Entry 3: Previously on this Blog…

Last I posted things were seemingly going well. I was working towards my private pilot’s license and promised to post more art. Since then some things have happened. And for those who only want to see the art and not this blah, I understand and say that new pieces are further down, enjoy! For others who want to hear what happened let me say this…

Good news: I got my private pilot’s license! I can fly and now have time for more art!

Other news, but news none the less: I dropped out of flight school and I am back home in Trout Lake.

Reality is I was having a hard time where I was. My difficulty wasn’t with the flying, the material or the people, however the chaotic environment cultivated at that training center was not what I needed. It works for others, just not me and that is okay.

Stepping back made me realize, as much as I wanted to be a pilot, I need a job closer to what I’ve been working towards since high school. And that is doing art. Whether it is straight up art and storytelling, which is what this website is for. Or art through engineering for theater, an entertainment company, or an amusement park. Or both… both would be good.

So now I FINALLY will be posting consistently on Friday’s each week (except this week). Also separate to this blog but on the same website, I will be posting some of the story I’ve been teasing in many of these pieces. It will probably not be a finished draft or anything, but at least it will exist in this reality apart from my head. My goal is create a living portfolio of stuff I am doing, and then who knows maybe I’ll get a finished draft out there, or maybe it will maintain a more flexible medium to tell vignettes through. And the good thing is I’m actually looking forward to it.

To sum it all up, I will be posting random art here on this blog, called Blog. It will include pieces that I’ll be selling, have sold or gifted, and some personal pieces for myself. In addition to Blog, there will be a story blog, separate to this which will only contain story material, followed by more later… whose name is yet to be given, so stay tuned!

Now onto the art! Some of these were made in the midst of flight school, others are directly after I returned home. I found some unique inspiration from Zion National Park, which helped with a couple pieces, and is why there are a few photographs for comparison. So now that I’ve thoroughly overstayed my welcome please enjoy, and thank you for stopping by!
